The Complete Multi-Vitamin Supplement
Multi-Vitamin Plus is a formula that benefits both men and women as well as children. The suggested usage is 4 capsules per day, so for children this could be cut down to 1 or 2 capsules per day, depending on the age of the child.
Multi-Vitamin Plus contains 166% of the recommended Daily Amount for Vitamin A, as well as 125% of the RDA for Vitamin D. It includes a 50 mg B-Complex, so it is good for dealing with stress. And there are 140 mg of natural Vitamin E. (These are the amounts in 4 capsules, as is the case for all the following comments.) It has 500 mg of Vitamin C as well as the bioflavonoid complex of Hesperidin, 20 mg, Quercetin, 50 mg, and Rutin, 25 mg.
The minerals included do not supply 100% of their RDI, but it does include Boron, Calcium, Chromium Picolinate, Copper, Iodine, Magnesium, Manganese, Molybdenum, Potassium, Vanadium and Zinc. However in the other nutritional substances below there are many minerals as well.
The other substances included are:
Alpha Lipoic Acid 100 mg. - Discovered in the early 1950's, alpha lipoic acid has only recently become one of the most recognized and in-demand health supplements. ALA is both fat and water soluble. This means that it can get into all cell parts to neutralize free radicals. It contains sulfur and is a vitamin like phyto-nutrient. It works like an antioxidant, meaning it fights free radicals and improves recovery. ALA is not your average antioxidant. In fact, ALA is known to be a very potent antioxidant because studies show it is readily absorbed throughout the body (it is both water and fat soluble) and, because of this, may protect the integrity of cells ranging from the brain to the liver.
Broken Wall Chlorella 50 mg. - Chlorella is one of the most heavily researched algae in the world. Chlorella is a tiny, single-celled water-grown algae filled with chlorophyll. Chlorella contains more chlorophyll per gram than any other plant. And of all the green algae studied so far, chlorella has the highest, often ranging from 3 to 5% pure natural chlorophyll. Chlorophyll is one of the greatest food substances for cleansing the bowel and other elimination systems, such as the liver and the blood.
CoQ10 50 mg. - CoQ10 is an enzyme that occurs naturally in the mitochondria of every cell in your body. It plays a key part in metabolizing energy from food. Coenzyme Q10 was first isolated in 1957. Since then, scientists have studied its effects on a wide variety of illnesses and conditions. CoQ10 is essential in the production of energy in your body, and is found in large concentrations in tissues that use a lot of energy, like your heart.
Cordyceps 40 mg. - Cordyceps Sinensis is essentially a fungus. It thrives at high altitudes and is usually found in the mountain ranges of Tibet, Nepal and some parts of China. Closely related to, but not quite a mushroom, Cordyceps Sinensis belongs to the Ascomycetes family. Highly prized by the Emperors of China for its restorative and energizing properties, a pound of wild Cordyceps was valued at 3 pounds of silver. Pretty expensive for something that isn't quite a mushroom. It has a long history of medicinal use in traditional Chinese medicine.
Gamma Oryzanol 12.5 mg. - Gamma oryzanol is a naturally occurring mixture of plant chemicals called sterols and ferulic acid esters. Although it appears in grains such as barley and corn, gamma-oryzanol is extracted from rice bran oil for commercial purposes. Gamma oryzanol is a potent membrane antioxidant in animals and humans. Red Grape Seed Extract 21 mg. - As you might expect, the supplement known as grape seed extract is extracted from the seeds, and sometimes the skins as well, of red grapes. Grape seed extract has been used extensively throughout Europe, and it is known to be an excellent source of flavonoids, which are powerful antioxidants. Antioxidants help neutralize free radicals, which in turn, reduce the incidence of cellular degeneration.
Milk Thistle Extract 100 mg. - There are many benefits of milk thistle, but the most common use for this herb is for promoting the health of the body's liver. Milk thistle use for treating liver ailments dates back to the ancient Greeks and this herb has also been used in Chinese medicine for 2000 years. There are over 300 research studies into milk thistle use and its benefits to back up its proven value in liver health today. Many of these studies were carried out in Europe and milk thistle is one of the herbs approved by the Commission E for its beneficial effects on the liver.
Pine Bark Extract 10 mg. - Pine bark extract is a potent antioxidant, and may help boost the effects of vitamin C and other antioxidants.
Reishi 25 mg. - In the oldest Chinese medical journals, Reishi was recommended for preventing ill health rather than as a cure. Recent studies have shown Reishi to be helpful for heart and circulatory health. Reishi contains concentrations of polysaccharides and triterpenoids which enhance the functioning of the immune system.
Resveratrol 25 mg. - Resveratrol is a polyphenol present in over 70 species of plants, including many fruits and vegetables. Growing numbers of in vivo studies show the extensive therapeutic benefits of resveratrol, including free-radical absorbing activity possibly responsible for its ability to extend the lifespan of various mammals.
Spirulina 50 mg. - This tiny aquatic plant has been eaten by humans since prehistoric times and is grown worldwide as a healthy food. Spirulina promotes health in many ways.
